Blue Carbon Unit 2. International Frameworks

International policy applies and enables collective action on global challenges. Common frameworks, global goals, and international treaties are negotiated amongst countries or Parties which sets the course of national or subnational prioritization of local policies and legislation that supports restoration, conservation, or sustainable management implementation. International policies are negotiated at international or regional forums like the United Nations (UNFCCC, CBD, SDG, UNDDR, UN Oceans, etc.) or other international conventions (Ramsar, World Conservation Congress (WCC), etc.). The frameworks or resolutions within these forums or conventions are generally adopted through multilateral negotiations that could result in legal treaties or voluntary commitments.
